The difficulty in life is the choice. Well what a curious statement for me to make when that seems to be the totalitarian objective that we as individuals seek throughout our childhood and well into our adult lives; â€Å"the freedom of choice†. Then why does that statement seem to ring so true and prevalent in our society today? A culture where teachers and professors are now moving into the roles of â€Å"facilitators† where students are encouraged to get to answers to fundamental questions through discussions and finally making their own decision; as opposed to the fundamental â€Å"do as told† style. Well I think that basically comes down to the fact that history has shown us that there are multiple ways to achieve an objective and the only†¦show more content†¦However, for complex, critical or important managerial decisions it is necessary to take time to decide systematically. Being a manager means making critical decisions that cannot and mu st not be wrong or fail. One must trust ones judgment and accept responsibility. There is a tendency to look for scapegoats or to shift responsibility. Top level managers are frequently criticized by lower levels of management, writers, and consultants because after promotion they continue to enmesh themselves in operating problems rather than to withdraw to the â€Å"big picture (Wrapp, 1967).† Decisions are at the heart of any organization. At times there are critical moments when these decisions can be difficult, perplexing and nerve-wracking. Making decisions can be hard for a variety of structural, emotional, and organizational reasons. Doubling the difficulties are factors such as uncertainties, having multiple objectives, interactive complexity, and anxiety. Strategic decisions are purposeful actions. The future of your organization and the progress of your career might be profoundly affected by what you as a manager decide. It was held by the Court of Appeal that a unilateral contract was present in this case, which bound the defendant to consider the tender of the plaintiff. Lord Bingham considered the truth behind the invitation to tender of the Council, which did not cover, in an explicit manner, that the tender would be considered in time based manner or the conforming tenders. This is the reason why the implications had to be considered. The Council also did no state that it would not be bound by anything for doing anything. This meant that for a reasonable invitee he would understand that the invitation meant that in case a timely and a proper tender was submitted, it would be considered, as would be any other such tender. This decision elucidated only a few number of invitations were sent for the tenders in a familiar, clear and orderly manner which shows that a key part of the reasoning allowed the term to be implied (Bits of Law, 2012). Thus, the case of Blackpool Flyde Aero Club v Blackpool Borough Council raised the question before the court on whether the claims of plaintiff regarding a claim for breach of implied promise by the defendant regarding time base tender not having been considered, had to be upheld or not (Poole, 2016). The claim was ultimately upheld due to the factors considered by the court. To put it more clearly, there are some situations where an invitation to tender could result in binding contractual obligations for the invitor, with regards to considering the tenders which fulfilled the tender conditions (Swarb, 2017). As the tenders had been requested by the defendant from certain selected parties, where all of these parties were known to the invitor, i.e., the defendant, and the invitation of the defendant for tendering the stipulated clear, familiar and orderly procedure, where the draft contract conditions were included and available for inspection, though these were not open for negotiations, a stipulated common tender form, an absolute deadline and the supply of the envelopes which were formed for preserving the anonymity of the tenderers in an absolute manner, implied that where the invite submitted the tender in the stated manner before the stated deadline, the tender sending party would have the right, as a contractual right, for getting the tender opened up and also considered with the their tenders which had been submitted in a timely manner and as per the prescribed conditions. As a result of this, the Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal of the defendant in this case (Department of Private Law and Law History, 2017). This decision remains controversial even till date as it fails to give clarity on exactly when a particular invitation for tender could be subjected to implied terms. Hence, when any person calls for a tender, they need to clearly state the terms on which the tenders would be considered. Where there is a lack of express conditions, the Courts would continue to have the power of implying a duty on the person who requested for the tender, to consider the tenders submitted before them. Leaves Of Grass I attended one of the many presentations at the Book Fair in MDCC Wolfson Campus on Thursday 18, 199 at 7:30pm. This presentation was called ?Art and Literature in Argentina? and it was the introduction of the new translation of ?Leaves of Grass? (Hojas de Hierva). ?Leaves of Grass? is a book full of inspiring poems; Walt Whitman issued the first of many editions more than 100 years ago in 1895. Many writers translated this book into many languages, especially into Spanish but its best translation was by the famous author and poet ?Jorge Luis Borges?. ?Leaves of Grass? is a volume of poetry in a new kind of versification because he praised the human body and glorified the senses. Walt Whitman was forced to publish the book at his own expense and his name did not appear on the title page, but he poses in the inside. Whitman spent the rest of his life striving to become a great poet. In 1855 edition of ?Leaves of Grass? contained 12 untitled poems, written in long cadenced lines that resemble the unrhymed verse of the king of James Version in the Bible. No other poem in the first edition has the power of this poem, although ?The Sleepers?, another visionary flight, symbolizing life, death, and rebirth, comes nearest. In 1856 Walt Whitman put together another edition of Leaves of Grass, with revisions and additions; he would continue to revise the collection throughout his life. The most significant 1856 poem is ?Crossing Brooklyn Ferry? he was originally from New York. In his third edition (1860) Whitman began to give his poetry a m ore allegorical structure. He added musical poems, and poems that dealed with sexual love and male friendship. In 1865 there was a new edition of Leaves that reflected Whitman's deepening awareness of the significance of the American Civil War and the hope for reconciliation between North and South. Finally, in 1881, Whitman arranged his poems to his satisfaction, but he continued to add new poems to the various editions of Leaves of Grass until the final version was produced in 1892. All his poems were included in the definitive ?Reader's Edition? of Leaves of Grass (1965), edited by Harold W. Blodgett and Sculley Bradley. Whitman suffered a stroke the left him partially paralyzed and he dedicated his time writing and revising Leaves of Grass, despite his failing health, until his death. In his later years Whitman also wrote some prose of lasting value, essays in Democratic Vistas. Today, Whitman's poetry has been translated into every major language. It is recognized as a formative influence on the work of some other American writers and some Spanish writers as well. One of these writers that brought Whitman's inspiration into the Spanish knowledge and awareness was Jorge Luis Borges. Borges was born in Argentina and he was a writer and author of famous books and poems such as: ?Borges y Yo? whose challenging avant-garde poems and tales made him one of the foremost figures in Latin American and world literature. Borges was the son of a teacher and educated, he helped found several literary and philosophical periodicals and wrote lyrical poetry on historical Argentine themes, as expressed in such collections Cuaderno San Martin, Luna de enfrente, and others. In 1955 Borges taught English at the University of Buenos Aires and turned from poetry to the short narrative fiction for which he is now famous. Jorge Luis Borges also wrote philosophical and literary essays, he invented a new way of free verse without proses. Borges created a fantastic, totally subjective, and deeply metaphysical world. His work is demanding and difficult to comprehend because Borges created his own symbolism; it is, however, greatly admired by other writers and scholars. Describing his work, Borges wrote: ? I am neither a thinker nor a moralist, but simply a man of letters who turns his own perplexities and that respected system of perplexities we call philosophy into the forms of literature?; Borges died in June 14, 1986 but before his death he translated many works of other English writers. ?Leaves of Grass?, ? Leon Felipe? both written by Walt Whitman. Finally in 1998 The Society of Argentinean writers asked Perez Celis (recognized
